Dream Motor Group, owned by former University of Alabama football coach Nick Saban, former Mercedes-Benz USA CEO Steve Cannon and group CEO Joe Agresti, is set to buy its first Toyota-Lexus dealership from Brett Sutherlin of Sutherlin Automotive Group, according to Sutherlin and dealership broker Mike Sims.

The transaction is expected to close in November, Sutherlin and Sims said.

A representative from Dream Motor Group didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Sutherlin’s Toyota-Lexus of Montgomery is in the capital city of Alabama. Sutherlin bought the store in 2023 from brothers Mike Reinhardt and Ed Reinhardt.

Dream Motor also owns seven Mercedes-Benz stores in Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama and Florida; an Infiniti store in Birmingham, Ala.; and a Ferrari dealership in Nashville, according to the group’s website.

Dream Motor in November 2023 purchased two South Florida Mercedes-Benz stores in a deal worth about $700 million.

Sims, president of buy-sell firm Pinnacle Mergers and Acquisitions, of Southlake, Texas, is representing Sutherlin in the Toyota-Lexus store deal. Sims said Dream Motor has “been very active” looking for Toyota and Lexus stores.
